The Jeep Compass made it onto the top Eight Popular Compact SUV's. According to the article, "The 2011 Jeep Compass gains a new front fascia and a revamped interior that significantly improve its curb appeal and bring it more in line with the styling cues that define the rest of the Jeep family. The Jeep Compass also offers an off-road package that includes items such as a low-range four-wheel drive system, skid plates and knobby tires in order to help transport up to five passengers or 53.6 cubic feet of gear regardless of what obstacles might stand between point A and point B."

The 2011 Jeep Compass provides a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine as its most common drivetrain option. Tuned to provide 172 horsepower and 165 lb-ft of torque, this motor can be matched with either a five-speed manual or a continuously-variable automatic transmission, and it delivers 21 mpg in city fuel economy and 26 mpg on the highway.

According to the article released in MSNBC today, "Chrysler, now privately held and majority owned by Italy’s Fiat, was the notable standout for the month. It posted a 44 percent rise in U.S. auto sales, led by gains for its Jeep brand, while its larger domestic rival General Motors lost ground in a month marked by modest growth. Chrysler’s sales blew past some analysts’ expectations of a 35 percent increase, demonstrating the remarkable comeback of the smallest U.S. automaker nearly three years after its taxpayer-funded bankruptcy restructuring. It also reported its first full-year profit since 1997."

JK-8 Project

We have started a new project here at Hendrick Chrysler Jeep in Fayetteville called the JK-8. The Jeep Wrangler JK-8 enables a Jeep Wrangler to morph into a two-door pickup truck. Components of the Mopar JK-8 kit include a steel bed, inner and outer bed sides, fiberglass hardtop and sport bar extensions.According to Chrysler, the kit is inspired by the Jeep Scrambler CJ-8 from the 1980s,

"For Jeep Wrangler Unlimited owners, our new Mopar JK-8 kit answers the call for even more radical customization," said Pietro Gorlier, Mopar president and CEO in a statement.

While the 2.4 L four-cylinder engine with either a four-speed or six-speed automatic transmission is carried over, Chrysler's new 3.6 L V6 is offered, with a six-speed automatic transmission, generating 283 horsepower (211 kW) and 260 lb·ft (350 N·m) of torque. Other changes include stiffer body mounts, a softer ride rate, revised suspension geometry, a new rear sway bar, and upgraded tires. The 200 also introduces more premium features than the Sebring, such as LED lighting, thicker seat cushioning with higher quality materials, and new measures to decrease noise, vibration, and harshness.[3]
